Nitro+Chiral’s latest BL game Slow Damage will release on November 14th at the f*cking low price of $20 USD, with a 10% reduction on pre-order and an adjusted price depending on your country.
Slow Damage tells the story of Towa, a hedonistic artist living in a yakuza-controlled city of the near future. Intent on painting people’s darkest desires, Towa seeks out extreme sensation and seedy underworld connections. But in exposing the truths of those around him, Towa may have uncovered more than he bargained for…
According to the Visual Novel Database, Slow Damage is very long: 60 hours of gameplay on average is needed to finish the game. This may be -partially- due to the player’s ability to make Towa investigate various places in the city and overall featuring a bit more gameplay than its BL game predecessors.
Slow Damage had first been announced back in 2016 and released in Japanese in February 2021. JAST Blue has been working closely with Nitro+ for several years now and they together encountered various obstacles that pushed back its release in English language, one of which, I suspect, is Steam.
Steam is strangely absent from the list of stores that will offer the game this month, despite JAST and Nitro+ working on a “Safe For Work” version that they hope will conform to Steam’s inconsistent policy on sexual content. Their official statement on the matter is simply “JAST BLUE is currently exploring a Steam release in the near future as well.”
You can pre-order the Slow Damage’s digital version right now on the JAST store with a price adapted to your region; and a physical version is also available for pre-order on J-list. GOG will also apply regional pricing on the game’s release.
